Resource Information for Consumers and Family Members

Do you live in Monroe County or Miami-Dade County? If you receive mental health and/or substance abuse services from community agencies, then you should know about the CONSUMER AND FAMILY RESOURCE MANUAL. This manual features agencies and stakeholders that work with consumers and their families. It will also give you information and direction on who to contact for more specific information.

Would you like to know the first steps in applying for Social Security benefits? It’s in the manual. Would you like to see if you qualify for a free wireless telephone? It’s in the manual. Clubhouses, Community Mental Health Centers and Drop-in Centers for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties are all listed in the manual, and much, much more.

The CONSUMER AND FAMILY RESOURCE MANUAL is located online. Go to SFBHN.org and look under the Resources for Consumers tab. The drop down menu will say, “Resource Manual and Forms”. By going there you will be able to download THE CONSUMER AND FAMILY RESOURCE MANUAL. South Florida Behavioral Network (SFBHN) has made this publication available in three languages – English, Spanish and Creole.

We highly recommend that peer-run centers make copies of this manual available for their members. All family groups and advocacy groups should have this manual close at hand. It is an invaluable resource.

If you need assistance regarding this, or have any questions related to mental health, substance abuse and/or other community services, please call the Consumer Hotline at 1-888-248-3111.
